Perception is a relative concept affecting how different people make decisions. Perception is how each person organizes and interprets reflections of particular impressions, which aids in giving meaning to the surrounding environment and understanding it (Vandebroeck, 2020). The perception process is fundamental since it forms the basis of why people behave differently. A person's behavior is determined by how they perceive reality, not reality itself. How we perceive things and the decisions we make from the differing perceptions form our personality types.

According to the test, apart from judgment and perception, three other intertwined preferences influence our personality. These are introversion and extroversion, sensing and intuition, and thinking and feeling. Extroversion and introversion deal with the distinction between the world within ourselves and the outside world. Sensing and intuition dwell on how we collect the information on which we base our decisions. While the 'sensing' preference collects data in the literal sense, 'intuition' creates abstract possibilities from the collected data. Finally, human beings make decisions based on how they think or how they feel. When people establish their decision-making on logic and reason, they think about the best decisions to make. In contrast, when a person decides based on what they value or what they believe to be right in a subjective manner, they are classified as feelers.

In this regard, a person's personality is dependent on which side of the pair of preferences they lean on (Murphy et al., 2017). For example, when people live in the introversion world more than they dwell in the extroversion world, they are regarded as introverts. Having this information on personalities and how differing perceptions influence them might change one's perspective on perceptions. Through this comprehension, one is elevated to a position where they can pick a career that befits their personality. Similarly, understanding people have different perceptions helps one live better with diverse people due to the comprehension of different personalities and their causes.
