Task

You will write a memo to future students of this class( technical writing) explaining what to expect from the first few weeks of this course and offering advice on how to succeed. You can write about anything related to the class. Examples include, but are not limited to the following:

• Types of assignments

• Types of in-class activities

• Ease/difficulty of work

• Group and individual work

• Instructor

• Online materials

• Textbook

Format

Your memo should be between one and two full pages, in 12pt font, in full-block format. Your memo should have bold headings for each section, and those headings should be directly related to the content of the section (see annotated example memo above).

Audience

Your target audience is future students, and your secondary audience is your instructor, who wants to see good execution of memo format and thorough explanations.

Tips

• Be thorough with your explanations. Dont let being concise trick you into leaving out information that could help your reader.

• Watch your formatting, including the spacing your word processor is putting in before and after paragraphs.

• Use the annotated example memo and your other resources.
