The topic chosen for the term report is Volatility of Exchange Rate and Economic Growth in Pakistan. The purpose of this study will be to understand the degree and extent as to the impact of instabilities in foreign exchange rates on the GDP growth rate in Pakistan. This topic is particularly interesting as well as engrossing in today's times, during the government of PTI. Mr. Khan was elected as Prime Minister on 18th August 2018, 1 USD being equivalent to somewhere around 122 PKR. Since then, exchange rate have been extremely volatile and reached sky high touching 169 for the first time in the history of Pakistan in the month of April 2020.

Volatile exchange rates makes international trade and investment decisions more difficult because volatility increases exchange rate risks causing traders and investors to lose money because of a change in exchange rate. Instabilities in exchange rate has also led to hurdles in trade financing. A stable system allows importers and exporters to plan without worrying about sudden moves in currency value. However due to extreme volatility as well as low level of foreign exchange reserves in the country, most commercial banks treasury are now requesting their trade based customers to report all outward foreign remittances and payments in advance.

This study will be completed by obtaining stats and data of variables from different online sources and to understand the relationship between them with the help of regression analysis.
