plargerism check
Adding A.I. to equipment creates challenges at many different levels. Globally there is no way of regulating the equipment in a way that complies with safety, emissions, and data privacy. There is also a lack of accessibility globally due to a lack of infrastructure in different regions, some countries will have a hard time ever obtaining new equipment, whether its because they are expensive to import to different countries, or because they are more expensive due to the new A.I. technology. Looking at environmental issues, there is a possibility A.I. equipped equipment may require more energy to operate, which would then in turn potentially increase its carbon footprint when operating, unless the energy is renewable. Cultural challenges could be the acceptance of A.I., there will be a large push back on experienced personnel within the industry. Also, with the new A.I. equipment you would need to reskill old workers, which could be a cultural challenge. Economic challenges would be the that the initial cost of A.I. equipment might be too much for many small companies, which could hurt the competitiveness within the industry. The Implementation will also disrupt the flow of the industry and what the economy is used to from the industry.
When looking at all the challenges faced when trying to implement A.I. into construction equipment there is a lot that needs to be done to mitigate the challenges. On a global scale the best way to mitigate the challenge is by creating associations that can help regulate the AI equipped technology, to ensure compliance across the board. Another way to mitigate the challenges on a global scale would be to help create organizations that can help the poorer countries, or countries with worse infrastructure to create this equipment themselves. When looking at environmental challenges the best way would to regulate the equipment to be energy efficient and to be from a renewable energy source. For the cultural challenges the best way would be to create training programs to help reskill the current workers that are scared the new technology will push them out of the market or even worse out of a job. Also, to help involve the current workers in the process of A.I. equipment from the start, so they fell that they are able to work with the equipment and now get replaced by it. Mitigations for economic challenges would have to come from government policies, creating low-interest loans or even grants to help these companies get the equipment they need at the start.
