Requirements

1. Save the recorded information in an ASCII file named archive.txt. The file, archive.txt, must be located in the directory: $HOME/itec400/homework

2. Copy the following directory to your homework directory: cp -r /export/home/dandrear/public_html/itec400/Misc/big_dir ~/itec400/homework

3. Review the man page for the cpio command.

4. Use the cpio command (without compression) to create a cpio file from big_dir

5. Record the size of the cpio file in archive.txt and the command(s) that you used.

6. Use tar command (without compression) to create a tar file from big_dir

7. Record the size of the tar file in archive.txt and the command(s) that you used.

8. Use the cpio command and pipe through gzip to create a compressed cpio file from big_dir

9. Record the size of the compressed cpio file in archive.txt and the command(s) that you used.

10. Use tar command with compression (observe man page) to create a compressed tar file from big_dir

11. Record the size of the compressed tar file in archive.txt and the command(s) that you used.
