It consists of five (5) phases, i.e. Planning, Analysis, Design, Implementation and Maintenance. The SDLC focuses on activities across all phases of the development project. However, a key aspect is the needs analysis phase. Needs analysis is a process of gathering, prioritising and documenting an organisation's human resource information requirements methodically and it will serve as a necessary input for the subsequent design and implementation of an HRIS. Recruitment is defined as "the ability to identify, attract and hire the most suitable, qualified individual for the job".
