Pendulum Lab Name: Due: February 28, 2022 Using the Phet simulation provided on Canvas, fill out each of the sections. Each section focuses on changing a different variable and seeing its effect on the period of the pendulum. The period is the amount ol'time it takes the pendulum to complete one full cycle {a complete back and forth). E trawl no ' E aeration Ll) \"EM Gaplt lL. , t\\\\ Farina I 5913 s Hutu I 3:11:12. , m . y u J For the angle, length, mass, and gravity sections you will want to click the period timer in the bottom left ofthe simulation. This is how you will measure the period. The pendulum needs to be swinging before you press play on the timer. The timer will automatically start when the pendulum passes the dotted vertical line and stop when the pendulum has swung one full cycle. For the Energy section, you will want to click the green plus sign by energy graph in the top left corner. This will pull up a bar graph that shows the KB, PE, and E total. Make sure that for the entirety of the simulations you conduct, that the friction is set all the way to none. For the first three sections (angle, length, and mass) you should keep the gravity set to Earth as well. Section I .' Angie In this section of the lab, you are going to investigate how the changes in angle effect the period.
