Patient Care Metrics is a category.

1. Average Door-to-Triage Time: 5 minutes is the goal. Calculate the time it takes for a patient to be triaged after arriving at the ER.

2. Average Door-to-Doctor Time: 15 minutes is the goal. Calculate the time it takes for a patient to be seen by a doctor after they arrive at the ER.

3. Patient Satisfaction Score: Aim for greater than 90%.- Measure: Conduct patient satisfaction surveys to determine their satisfaction with ER treatments.

Metrics for Resource Utilization

4. Bed Turnover Time: 30 minutes is the goal. Measure the time it takes to clean and prepare a bed for the next patient after they have been discharged.

5. ER Staffing Ratio: Aim for a 1:4 ratio (1 nurse for every four patients).- Determine the average nurse-to-patient ratio during peak hours.

Metrics for Quality of Care

6. Percentage of Patients Admitted: 20% targetDetermine the percentage of ER patients who require hospitalization.

5% is the target percentage of patients that require re-admission. Track the percentage of patients discharged from the emergency room but return within 72 hours.

8. Lab Turnaround Time: 60 minutes is the goal. Calculate the time it takes for ER patients to receive lab results.

9. Radiology Turnaround Time: 45 MinutesCalculate the time it takes to collect and understand radiology reports.

10. Medication Error Rate: 1% is the target. Track the rate of pharmaceutical errors in the emergency room, including dose and administration problems.
