Please discuss confidence interval and give two examples

In nursing, we seldom know the true values or percentages of many illnesses or syndromes. For example, if we were asked how many people contracted a particular strain of flu during a year then we could give estimates but not the true count. Not everybody went to the doctor or emergency room. Most probably did not get a test to determine the particular strain of the flu. Sometimes we just deal with estimates. For example, in a survey done in November 2018, 43% of people in the United States had been vaccinated against the flu with 3.9% margin of error with 95% confidence ("News Scan for Dec 06, 2018", 2018). This would allow us to create a confidence interval: lower bound = 43% - 3.9% = 39.1% upper bound = 43% + 3.9% = 46.9% so we are 95% confident that the true percentage of individuals that got vaccinated is between 39.1% and 46.9%.
