After several months of argument, Gerald sent a check for $7,500 to Janice on which Gerald had written \"payment in full for electrical installation services.\" (a) Janice endorsed the check without making any irther notations on it, deposited the check and sued Gerald for the remaining $2,500 he claims is due. (b) Instead of the facts in (a), assume that Janice and Gerald had a telephone conversation in which Janice agreed to take $7,500 in full satisfaction of Gerald's obligations under the contract. Gerald then sent a check referencing the telephone conversation. Janice wrote \"under protest\" on the check, then endorsed the check and deposited it. She then sued Gerald for $2,500.
