Please explain the following -

1.) How does the use of the use of the product rule differ from the chain rule?

2.) Newton and Leibniz invented calculus at the same time. When Newton wrote out a derivative, he drew a little dot above the variable. In contrast, Leibniz indicated the derivative using d/dx. Which is the better notation and in what circumstances would the other notation be useful? Are there any other notations for derivatives?
