I have not worked with many PM tools/methodologies due to the production support type roles I've had; but, one tool I've used is Jira. It a very convenient time tracking and project management tool used to assign and manage the delegated tasks for each team member. Utilizing this tool makes working on various projects not only efficient when working with either methodologies (ie: Waterfall or Agile), but makes managing your time/day according a breeze. I know that the few times I've used it (when upgrading all networking equipment across 30 medical offices) it made coordinating tasks effective. A certificate that would greatly add value to any organization when it comes to process would be the lean six sigma. A certificate of that caliber in conjunction with something like Certified Project Manager (CPM) not only demonstrates your understand of the methodologies and processes; but, ultimately shows your devotion to bettering a system while making it efficient. As listed, there are many project management methods that can be utilized to deliver features, products, services, etc. I am passionate about the Kanban method since it is what I use for my day job. Formally, Kanban is defined as "visual system for managing work as it moves through a process". You can break up work into four categories: Backlog, To do, Ongoing, Done. The main goal is to minimize work-in-progress (WIP), making Kanban a pull system. Minimizing WIP is key because it doesn't allow workers/developers to move on to new work until their current work is finished. It gives approval control to product owner and help him or her manage workflow. Many times in my experience, developers are superstars and like to take on a lot of work at once. This has helped me personally in managing developers and delivering features on time, using JIRA as my Kanban implementation tool
