A good reputation helps a business in many ways. If a business has a good reputation, this will often bring in customers rather than the business having to search for customers. It gets the good word out and will attract new customers. It can help retain existing customers and give them a loyalty to the company. It attracts new talent and helps retain existing talent within the employees. It helps increase the publicity and good word in the public. Reputation has changed over the past several years with the rise of social media. Often you can see the reputation of the business based on the amount of engagement they have on their posts such as likes, shares, followers and comments. If I am looking at a new brand I often see the comments, posts that they are tagged in, the ratio of likes to followers to make sure they do not buy their followers. Reputation is very important with businesses, big or small. If there is a scandal in a business such as Nike, they see the numbers go down for a certain amount of time. It often returns to how it was, but for a time they can take a hit.
