All workers should be protected, but in a way that benefits them and fits their country's labor laws and standards. However, since the labor laws and standards differentiate within all countries, this becomes a bigger discussion and more difficult than just applying protection to everyone. I believe that it is necessary to enforce the same protection for foreign supplier workers as is provided to the workers in the United States. However, ultimately, I do not believe that it is Walmart's duty to ensure that these foreign suppliers they are working with are protected. What we believe our workers need to be protected against may seem unreasonable or illogical to other countries.

Walmart's standards are not illusory when it comes to legality. Although, when it comes to moral standards, they might not align depending on each individual's ethical standards. Since we are basing our opinions on the legal environment of their business practices, they are justified in their stance. When it comes to companies hiring third-party suppliers, they are not legally required to uphold a duty on the way the foreign party protects their workers. Due to Walmart being a U.S based company, they do need to uphold a standard for their employees residing in the states. The legal environment for suppliers can be different in different states, so it is no different in different countries.
The only legal stance the third party may impede on Walmart is the right to sue on the contract, even though they themselves are not part of the contract.

I believe Walmart should give full treatment to each of the companies' workers. This is a belief that should range throughout the whole world if Walmart wants to continue expanding their products and services. Foreign suppliers are providing for the company to keep its reputation and spread their business, the same way the U.S. has been for years. For this specific company, fair pay and equal treatments should be extremely enforced, especially since the company wants to expand across the globe. But, working conditions may be in different effect in the U.S. compared to other countries. Walmart may have proposed a contract to all its business partners, which should state legal regulations and rules based upon labor qualities for the location they want to provide business. As long as Walmart's statements provide fair rules similar, if not the same in other countries, then other duties shouldn't be required. All locations must provide the same quality of employee treatment and fairness.
