Please help me answer the question to this assignment by filling out the template below. Read the case study below.
For the student exercise, you will first need to conduct a Porter's Five Forces analysis using the template below. For each of the five factors, you will establish the intensity from 1(low intensity) to 5(high intensity) based on information from the case. For instance, if considering competitiveness against current rivals you might consider (1) the number of competitors, (2) rate of industry growth, and (3) height of exit barriers to establish the intensity as low to high (see figure 4.2 and associated content in the text). Based on your analysis of the case, you will also designate if the force is an opportunity (O), threat (T), or both (B). You should use the comments to provide a sentence or two justifying the intensity of the force and the O,T,B designations. Remember, profit potential is inversely related to the intensity of each force (i.e., lower forces = greater profit potential).
Next, you will conduct a STEEP analysis using information from the case. You will need to include two factors each for the natural environment and legal factors (i.e., the factors that correspond with ecological and political-legal on the STEEP). For the other STEEP factors (i.e., socio-cultural, technological, economic) you only need to include one factor from the case. After listing the factors in the template, you will then designate each as O,T,B and utilize comments to provide details about the factor and designation.
Lastly, you will complete an external factor analysis summary (EFAS) table based on the Porter's Five Forces and STEEP analyses. There should be exactly four opportunities and four threats listed on the EFAS that are clearly derived from the previous analyses. For each of these factors, you should assign a weight and a rating. The weights for all eight factors should add up to a total of 1. Thus, you may assign weights like .05,.15,.25,.05,.10,.10,.05,.015(total=1.0) to each of the eight factors. You should also rate each factor from a 1 to a 5, where the industry average is a 3. This means that if based on the evidence from the case, Montana Hop Brew is better equipped to address a threat than the industry on average, the rating would be above 3(e.g.,3.5). Likewise, if Montana Hop Brew is worse equipped than the industry to take advantage of an opportunity, the rating would be below 3(e.g.,2.5). Be sure to include comments to explain and/or justify (1) the inclusion of the factor, (2) the weight, and (3) the rating.
