1. It is good to discuss uniformed services versus non uniform. In other words do we have security present or not? On one side it sort of tells that the property is safe on the other one it says do I have to stay here because it's not as safe and is that the reason security walking around?

2. Having uniformed security visible throughout a hotel property provides a level of comfort for the guests that there are people whose job it is to look out for the safety of the guests and staff. Uniformed security is a deterrent as its unlikely anyone will commit a crime with a guard is visible and armed. Having plain clothes security that blend is equally effective not as the deterrent but in stopping and or capturing a perpetrator who was unaware security was close. I would provide uniformed staff in high traffic area's where guests can see the hotel takes their security seriously but also have plain clothes security wondering around as hotel guests tend to do in area's where potential crime can take place, front desk, retail shops and the bell stand. Having these measures along with an extensive, monitored, video camera system that can monitor all aspects of the hotel property and alert security as to the issue and location thus preventing further issues. Training, that the security guards must complete needs to include not only effective guest relations as uniformed security are also ambassadors of the hotel that will be sought out for directions, to answer questions and resolve small issues with other guests and or unruly children at the pool complex.
