For this assignment you must identify positive influences within your life, which will motivate you to stay away from experimentation with substance abuse. You must create a slideshow that displays a breakdown of four influences from either your family, yourself, your school, or within your community, that will act as a positive influence for refusing drugs. Use the rubric below to guide you in developing your slides. - Identify the influences: 25 points You must choose four positive influences within your school, family, community, or throughout society that will be a positive influence in refusing tobacco, alcohol, and/or drugs. Family: My younger brother is a positive influence on me to not use tobacco, drugs and/or alcohol because he is always watching me and I want to be a positive role model in his life and be there for him. Society: If I am in jail I will not be contributing to my community at all and also not a role model for my younger brother. If I use illegal substances then I might get arrested and not be a part of society. School: I want to be able to stay in school and do well but if I'm doing drugs I could get kicked out and fail my classes. Community: Playing basketball at the Boys and Girls Club is fun and important to me because I play basketball there, help the younger kids and hang out with my friends.
