The owner of this business, Trish Xarg prepares a statement of advice report for Thornton. Amongst the recommendations in the statement of advice report is one to purchase shares in Tas Cable Co Ltd, a company seeking to build a cable car on Mount Wellington in Hobart. Trish's advice confirms that shares in this company will double in value in twelve months. Also contained in the statement of advice report is a clause that says: 'This report provides general advice only and is not intended to be relied on. As this clause is on the last page of the report, Dusky Bat does not notice it. He pays Trish $3000 for the report and purchases $30 000 of shares in Tas Cable Co Ltd.
