Please help me with this project

For Module 3, you will:

1. include contributions from Modules 1 & 2 with corrections,
2. evaluate the type of sampling used and make recommendations for improvement for future sampling,
3. create a confidence interval that can be used to estimate the true population parameter for your data and
4. validate the proper sample size needed to carry on further study.

M3 Project Contribution Instructions

I want to test if the mean sleeping hours of my co-work are greater than 8 hours or not.

I rely on sampling techniques like convenience sampling. I ask my friends and their friends on Facebook about the number of hours they sleep. In this way, I collect 30 responses. The data collected is given below.

The mean number of hours slept by my 30 friends is 7.3. The Median is 7 which implies half of my friends have sleeping hours less than 7 and the other half has more than 7 sleeping hours. Mode is the number occurring a maximum number of times. This implies the maximum number of hours of sleep is of 7 hours.

The standard deviation and variance is 1.98 and 3.94. Their low values imply mean is reliable. The minimum and maximum hours of sleep are 4 and 10 hours.

Skewness is -0.24. This implies data is skewed to the left. That is there are very few friends with low sleeping hours. For skewed data, the median is the best measure of central tendency.
