Personally, I do not think Tesla offers a non-threatening work environment for all employees. After watching the video I do believe Mr. Diaz's claims of a racist work environment at Tesla. The company's HR department apology statement was not even an apology. The company stated they have come a long way from 5 years ago. No where in the statement did they say they are working on a zero tolerance policy for discrimination. Therefore, with such a non sincere apology and multiple black employees saying the company work environment was threatening I believe Tesla has a hostile work environment. It's nice to see the company ended up paying money to these employees but I do not believe they learned their lesson and want to change. Furthermore, Walmart is a multinational company and enforces its anti- discrimination policy strongly. On Walmart's website under the FAQs tab there is information on their discrimination and harassment policy. Walmart prides itself on building trust with their associates. The discrimination and harassment policy entails zero tolerance for actions that violate someone's dignity, interfere improperly or unreasonable with their ability to perform their job, or establish a hostile, intimidating, or undesirable work environment because of the protected status of the individual. Retaliation against anyone who reports harassment or discrimination is likewise not tolerated by Walmart. Additionally, Walmart encourages employees to report any form of harassment or discrimination to their manager, people lead, or ethics and compliance. I do believe Walmart as a whole has a non-threatening work environment from my experience shopping there. Walmart does have a largely diverse employee make up.
