Question 1 A computed tomography scan is a medical imaging technique used to obtain detailed internal images of the body. The personnel that perform CT scans are called radiographers or radiology technologists. The CT scanner is presented in figure 1 below. rigure 1: Ci scan The province has ten hospitals. However, only one hospital is having computerized tomography scanner. This equipment serve the entire province. According to manufacture, the machine has to scan twenty patients a day and schedule maintenance should be performed quarterly. Due to high demand, the hospital scan forty patients a day and they perform schedule maintenance according to manufacture's recommendation. There is high number of breakdowns, longer downtime on this critical equipment and the hospital does not have maintenance personnel for this machine. They out-source the maintenance services of this critical equipment and that company is situated 70km away from the hospital and provide services to other hospitals around the country. the hospital is currently using manual filling of maintenance documents. Note: the Doctor relay on the results coming from this equipment in order for him/her to assist the patient. If the machine is down, patients with internal injuries may die if they don't get help as soon as possible. Questions 1.As the maintenance expect, what can you do or recommend to solve this problem?
