b.1 Objective e objective of this lab is to get familiarize with the stress analysis in Inventor. Moreover, to mpare the mechanical properties of porous and non-porous structure. b.2 Assignments: 1. Create Tensile test specimen and perform static stress analysis for the Aluminum and Brass Samples, determine the factor of safety for 1000lb tensile load. Modify the geometry (if required) to increase the factor of safety greater than 1.5 . Figure 1: Test specimen dimensions as defined by ASTM D368-10 2. Perform a compressive stress analysis on a porous structure of your choice some of the examples are given for reference you can create any porous structure utilized for any application and compare the results with a solid geometry.
