PLEASE POST COMMENT ABOUT THE EVENT BASED ON THE GUIDELINE: (200 WORDS NEEDED)

All news stations show that today, 3/4/22, the nuclear power plant in Ukraine was on fire. Both sides (Russia and Ukraine) accuse each other of igniting that fire. (source) I think that will not cause a nuclear catastrophe as some news reporters alarm; the emergency systems are so advanced nowadays that the nuclear reaction is well controlled in any power plant. So no worries about a spontaneous nuclear explosion. The heavy water from the nuclear power plant or other radioactive substances may contaminate the local environment, let's say within a few miles radius. So far, however, no such leaks have been reported. The accident (or the planned action, as many suspects) may be dangerous from another angle. Remember our discussion about the world without electricity? That's the danger for Kyiv right now. A week ago, our discussion was purely theoretical. Today, it seems to be right on target. The lack of electricity can be used as a tool of war. Please post your comments on the event. Here are some questions that may guide your reflection: How does the lack of electricity influence people's lives in Kyiv? How does the lack of electricity influence the flow of information and communication, both in Ukraine and internationally? What strategies would secure the electricity supply if a similar scenario occurs in other countries? How can we get prepared? What should we do if indeed a nuclear explosion happens? While not anticipated at the moment, and definitely not expected from that power plant, in time of such an unprecedented wart situation, it makes sense to just give it a thought. We are people of science; thus, our neighbors will seek our advice in case of an event. What would you say, if asked
