A Program on Construction Ethics, 3rd Edition CASE STUDY NO. 8 A local developer advertised for bids for site improvements on a large project. Four bidders submitted quotations for the project. The bid opening revealed that bidder A was $25,000 below bidders B, C, D. and were substantially higher. Following the bid opening bidder B claimed an error in their bid and asked the developer to be allowed to correct the mistake by adjusting their price downward by $30,000. The effect of this would be to make bidder B, the low bidder. Claiming the right to waive any inconsistencies the developers accepted bidder B's revised bid, and awarded the project to him
