Please provide a ONE-page statistical analysis/report for the following situation. The analysis/report should include an: introduction, analysis, and conclusion. The report should be intended for an audience with limited knowledge of statistical concepts, for example upper-level management. It is important to always state the important information from a statistical test: Hypothesis, test statistic, p-value, assumptions, and conclusion.
The famous statistician, chemist, and brewer William Sealy Gosset was a pioneer of modern statistics specializing in experimental design and analysis of small samples. In light of his work, consider the following scenario.
You have recently been hired as a quality control specialist for an up-and-coming brewery The Normal Outlier. The brewery currently has two production facilities in Virginia, one in Charlottesville and the other in Blacksburg. The brewery will soon be releasing their flagship beer, Gaussian IPA, in a liter (16 fluid ounces) size can. Your first task is to assess the consistency of the beer canning process, specifically assessing the amount of beer dispensed in each can. It is vital that the machine process fills the cans with approximately 16 fluid ounces on average. If the machine is underfilling the cans, the customers will be shortchanged and the company could be liable for false advertising. On the other hand, filling the cans with too much liquid is a waste of resources and will impact the companys profit. A simple random sample of 30 cans from both the Charlottesville and Blacksburg facilities is obtained and the volume dispensed, in fluid ounces, by the machine is recorded (See PartB.csv Download PartB.csv). Provide a full statistical analysis of the volume dispensed by the machines at the two facilities (two seperate analysis) and test, at the significance level, if the machines are filling the cans with 16 fluid ounces on average. Be sure to state if you believe each process is functioning adequately and include any similarities and/or differences between the two brewery locations. Support your answers using information you obtained through the statistical analysis.
Please do not include your R code in the report but do include any necessary figures, plots, tables, etc. I will not take off points if your report is SLIGHTLY longer than one page. You may use any font, font size, or line spacing you deem reasonable.
