Hello Professor and future leaders,

What is the critical problem or opportunity you will focus on?

Employee retention would be my main focus. Leaders need to develop strategies to have a positive impact on employee retention. Healthcare systems, it is mainly focusing on nursing retention. This can be achieved by opening channels of communication, building a culture of recognition and rewarding hard work.

What type of data will you need for your analysis? Is it patient data, demographic data, product data, or another type of data?

Employee engagement and employee retention can be measured, understood, and improved by using data science and people analytics.

How will you obtain this data? What challenges do you anticipate in accessing the data?

Employee satisfaction surveys and well as exit interview surveys will be my key source of obtaining my data.

Employees should feel comfortable and satisfied with their jobs and will be eager to share that information. I would encourage the completion of the surveys through a portal to make sure we can monitor the top dissatisfaction and well as satisfaction. The challenges I anticipate are the dissatisfied employees scared to express their true feeling due to retaliation from the organization.

What is your hypothesis (prediction) of what the data will tell you?

There isnt any doubt that happy employees are an organization's main source and keeping workers happy will strengthen the company in many ways. The surveys are very important for employees to stay motivated and challenged in the workplace. The employee satisfaction surveys will help track factors and give management a view of what to improve on their employee engagement.
