Please read below. What do you think?
Organizational decision making and conflict management involve the pursuit of impossible dreams. The longstanding ideal of decision making perfect rationality is extremely difficult to attain. Individual, group, and organizational limitations set up powerful barriers to rational decision making. The ideal goal of conflict management a resolution that meets the needs of all parties is equally difficult. Individual tendencies, unfortunate framings, preexisting power relations, and lack of imagination work against problem solving. In both cases, our organizations rarely live up to expectations. What then, should we do? Some would argue that we should be realistic and set our sights on other goals to make decisions that are good enough and make adjustments later on, or to resolve conflicts in ways that enable us to go on with our work and lives. Others would argue that, despite the fact that these goals are rarely realized, they still represent worthy targets we should strive for.
