Hello class, In today's discussion, I chose the example of this survey online that shows central tendency and measures of variability, Survey Results: "What is Your Favorite Color?" Is 10 Frequency Green Red Purple Pink Orange Color . Which measures or central tendency and variability were presented in the article? So in this example, this data measures what was people's favorite colors. The central tendency, the mode that occurred the most was blue. . Were they presented correctly? The mode was presented correctly but there was no way to calculate the median or the mean. . Is there a clearer way the author could have presented the information? Yes, the mode was very easy to spot out in this data. A clearer way for the reader to find the median or mean is if the author did not use categorical data like the one shown above. . In what ways are the measures of central tendency and variability helpful to the reader? Central tendency and variability are helpful to the reader by providing easy information to read and follow. For example, in this data presented above, it was very easy to find the mode which was one of the central tendencies, which was blue. The variability would be the spread out of scores like green and orange. Distributions with the same mean can have different amounts of variability or dispersion
