please solve a and b please solve a and b Problem 1 (25pt) A particle is incident

Problem 1 (25pt) A particle is incident upon (and reflected) by a potential barrier V2 spanning 0E>V3. (a) Write a system of algebraic equations (the general solutions to TISE) and a list of appropriate boundary conditions that could be solved to find the wavefunction in each region. Cross off any terms that will be zero, but you do not have to plug in the boundary conditions to find the undetermined constants. (b) Make three sketches illustrating the form of the solution: (i) draw the amplitudes (real component is sufficient) of each contributing wave (incident/reflected/transmitted etc.) inside each region; (ii) draw summed amplitudes illustrating the interference occurring in each region; (iii) draw the probability distribution for finding the particle across the system. The PhET 'quantum tunneling' simulation may be helpful (link on Canvas, it is hosted on physics department site, not learnchemecom). You will want to select the wavefunction form radio button 'plane wave' on the right hand side
