PLEASE SOLVE WITH FULL STEPS AND THERMODYNAMICS TABLES FOR GOOD RATING.
Q1. Water is the working fluid in an ideal Rankine cycle with reheat. Steam enters the first-stage turbine at
1400 psi and 1000 F , expands to a pressure of 350 psi , and is reheated to 900 F before entering the second-
stage turbine. The condenser pressure is 2 psi . Assume the high-pressure turbine is 95% efficient while the low-
pressure turbine is 85% efficient. The net power output of the cycle is 1109Btuh. Determine for the cycle (a)
the mass flow rate of steam, in lbh.(b) the rate of heat transfer, in Btu/h, to the working fluid passing through
the steam generator. (c) the thermal efficiency. (30 marks )
