Assume you are working on a project to develop a advising Chabot that will provide advising service for admission and retention at ODU. The Chabot you are working on has the following functions identified: 1.Providing Help The Chabot uses natural language processing (NLP) to understand the intent of a student's input. It then uses the results of NLP to search the ODU advising knowledge base system and provides responses to the student. 2.Gathering Information When the Chatbot indenties a situation that needs to be handled by human advisors, Chatbot gathers the preliminary information about the issue and verify the student by Midas ID and password. After that, it passes the information to a human advisor (based on certain factors) and connects the student to the advisor. The Chatbot updates the knowledge base after the human advisor answers the questions so it "learns" and can answer the same questions next time. 3.Sending Information The Chatbot sends text messges to students for upcoming events /deadlines such as filing FAFSA, registering for next semester, etc. 3.
