TERM ASSIGNMENT SUBMISSION: 30th August, 2022 In every year Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo harvested Maize grains in large quantities from'his farms and stored them in grain elevators in three different regions Central, Ashanti, and Greater Accra. These grain elevators supply three cities. Sunyan, Dunkwa and Ho of maize for Apostle Sarfo Church Members who are needy. Grain is shipped to the cities in road trucks, each of which is capable of holding one ton of maize. Each grain elevator is able to supply the following number of tons (i.e., trucks) of maize to the cities on a monthly basis: Total 600 tons On average each city demands the following number of tons of maize per month The cost of transporting one ton of maize from each grain elevator (source) to each city (destination) differs according to the distance and road system. These costs are shown in the following table. For example, the cost of shipping one ton of maize from the grain elevator at Ashanti to the mill at Sunyani is GHC7. Apostle Kwadwo sarfo want to reduce its transportation cost of shipping the grains from the production regions to the various distribution cities. Therefore use the following three models of transportation (North West Corner Rule, Least Cost Method and Vogel's Approximation Method) to determine the most efficient model that Apostle Sarfo should adopt and use for the shipment of maize to these three cities.
