FAILED INNIVATION: Considering Failure of Innovation of Nokia one of the global leaders in mobile phones in 2000`s. As internet was introduced other mobile companies started understanding how data was the future of communication but Nokia didnt grasp the concept of software and they kept focusing on hardware. Nokias mistake was the fact that they didnt want to lead the drastic change in user experience. This caused Nokia to develop problem of operating system with a bad user experience which doesn`t fit in the market. The company even though overestimated the strength of its brand and believed that they could be successful even if they arrive late in the smartphone game and succeed but it didn`t turn true because in 2007 Steve Jobs launched the iPhone. A phone without a keyboard which was revolutionary at the time. In 2008 Nokia finally took decision to compete with Android but it was too late. Their products werent competitive enough. Here the failure of Innovation occurred due to the carelessness and improper identification of users needs. It is not just the brand name which increases the sales and innovations introduced the innovations introduced must be attractive and useful for the users and time to time updating of technology also must be done besides protecting brand image as we can see example of Nokia by time company realised it was too late that they weren`t competitive in the market.
