Q3//An isolated power station has a LFC system. The station has one generator delivering its rated power with inertia constant H= 5 sec. The load varies by 0.8 percent for a 1 percent change in frequency, i.e., D=0.0133 333 puMW/Hz. The governor speed regulation is set to R= 3.0 Hz/pu MW. The turbine rated output is 250 MW at nominal frequency of 60 Hz. A sudden load decrease of 50 MW occurs: 1. Find the steady-state frequency deviation in Hz. 2. Give physical interpretation of the results obtained in (1). What are the components which are considered to be a direct contribution to the new demand reduction of 50 MW. 3. Assume there is no frequency- dependent load; find the steady-state frequency deviation in Hz. 4. If the above power station is not equipped with speed governor, find the steady-state speed of the generator for the sudden load decrease of 50 MW.
