Preparation: Write a function MyStockHistory(stockObject,k) which retrieves from the stock exchange
of the stockObject the historical data for the past k work days. The data must include for each day the
date, open, high, low and close prices and the volume. Put MyStockHistory into the name manager, so
the function is available anywhere in the workbook.
Test your function on the Apple and Amazon stock objects (for XNAS) and use the Apple result for your
visualizations.
Apple is a very popular stock. Its symbol is APPL. You can go to many websites and see many different
charts about its price or volume. For example, the NASDAQ website has charting available. One of its
more advanced charts, see Figure 3, features both the price and the volume. This chart is actually two
graphs. The top part is the stocks daily open, high, low, and close price. The bottom is the volume (how
many shares were traded).
You are going to create the same two charts. You dont have to mimic the colors, but you need to use the
same type of charts. In the worksheet Apple Charts, use the Stocks structured data type to get stock
data about Apple. Then, use the StockHistory function to get the daily open, high, low, close, and volume
for the working days of the past 3 months. You should include the date as well.
A couple of things to note:
1. Notice the scale of the vertical axis. The lower chart is in millions. The upper chart does not begin
at $0. Putting the axis on the right involves setting the label position to high.
2. You may need to reorganize the price data for the top chart
