PREPARING DATA FOR ANALYSIS: 1) Identify and define variables that suit the purpose of the research scenario/proposed research question, and describe the variables in terms of how they are operationalized and coded in the survey; 2) Explain whether the variables need to be recoded to clean them or create new variables that are a good fit for addressing the research scenario/proposed research question; describe the procedure(s) for recoding and the coding of the new variable.
