Question:
Presentation Outline - Instructions & Rubric
make a detailed outline for your PowerPoint presentation. You may write it in point-form if you wish, but ensure that your point form notes are clear and grammatically correct.
Your outline should identify both the persuasive strategies and the research (statistics, facts, etc.) you intend to use in each section of your persuasive presentation. Sources should be cited in proper APA format (in-text parenthetical citation + References list at the end). (Note: annotations are not needed with this reference list.)
Use the AIDA pattern to divide your presentation into sections (Attention-grabbing opener; Interest-building middle section; Desire-building/resistance-reducing middle section; Action-inducing close). See below for a sample outline, but keep in mind this is a suggested model only; you will need to adjust the content according to your topic.
You do not need to write your entire script in the outline; rather, you should plan with as much detail as possible what content goes where. Indicate the research sources you will use in each section, and cite these using APa.
Decide what content is most important to include in order to:
- persuade your audience as to why your company/charity is so important (e.g. how it fills a need)
- demonstrate your credibility by showing that you consulted expert sources (which show the problem/need that your company/charity fills)
- persuade your audience to buy/invest/donate
