Question: Problem 1 : A double - angle tension member, 2 L 5 3 - 1 2 5 8 LLBB , is connected to a 3

Problem 1: A double-angle tension member, 2 L 53-1258 LLBB, is connected to a 34-in. thick gusset plate with 78-in. diameter, A325-N bolts as shown in Figure 1. Both the tension member and the gusset plate are A36 steel.
(A) Check if bolt spacing and edge distance meet the AISC requirements.
(B) Calculate the design tensile strength of the tension member based on YLS and RLS. Assume block shear will not govern and the gusset plate has a sufficient tensile strength.
(C) Check if the bolted connection shown has a sufficient strength to transmit the design tensile strength calculated in (B). If not, how many bolts are needed?
(D) The tension member is 24ft long. If needed, specify the number of stitch connections.
