derived from the values at left. Does this state of stress lie entirely in the safe $($no failure$)$ space defined by

the $M-C$ result?

Note: You can use Excel for this problem $-$ if you want.

When plotting the Mohr Circle in Excel, be sure that the circle is aligned properly wrt normal stress axis $($i$.$e$.$ staddling the horizontal axis$).$

Also, check that plot axes are equidimensional, as discussed in class. $($Also see tab in this spreadsheet titled "helper on Excel plots."
