Question: Problem Nr . 4 The following data are provided for the water flow network shown in Figure 3 : Temperature of water: T = 2

Problem Nr.4
The following data are provided for the water flow network shown in Figure 3:
Temperature of water: T=20C
Water flowrate: Q=230+Z[m3h],Z=15
Atmospheric pressure: P0=1atm
Inner diameter of suction pipeline: d1=0.125m
Inner diameter of discharge pipeline: d2=0.100m
Roughness height of pipes: =0.5mm
Resistance coefficient at comers: K=0.5
Resistance coefficient at the entrance of suction pipeline: K=0.3
L1=8+0.05*Z[m],L2=3[m],L3=12+0.1*Z[m],L4=6[m],zgeod.=7[m].
Length L4 is equally distributed to the three vertical branches of the discharge pipeline.
Calculate:
(i) The pressure (friction) losses at the suction pipeline.
(ii) The pressure (friction) losses at the discharge pipeline.
(iii) The pressure increase at the pump necessary to maintain the above flow rate.
(iv) The value of absolute pressure after the first comer of the discharge pipeline.
