The superimposed dead load is 20 psf and the live load is 60 psf . Compressive strength of concrete =4000. Yield stress of steel =60ksi.
(a) Perform the load distribution analysis and find the maximum factored positive and negative bending moment for the beam.
(b) Determine the tension reinforcement required (bar size and number of bars). Design for tensioncontrolled failure.
(c) Determine the vertical shear reinforcement (stirrups) required (bar size and spacing).
Show all calculation clearly following the necessary steps. Draw the bending moment and shear force diagram and show the maximum values. Identify all the code provisions used by referring to the appropriate equations and the figures/charts/tables in the textbook.
