next page. The roof plan shown on next page is part of a multiple bay structure with

rectangular ${32}^{\text{'}}{50}^{\text{'}}$ grid in both directions.

a$.$ Use Tributary area method to develop a dead and live load take$-$off table based on the roof

construction shown. Use MEP $=5$ psf and add Miscellaneous $=1$ psf$.$

b$.$ Calculate the total load on a typical column footing using the Tributary Area method.

c$.$ Draw free body diagrams $($FBD$)$ for a typical open web joist, W $2144$ beam and W$1453$

column. Indicate the type and magnitude of loading on the FBD$.$ Recall that the weight of

steel sections is given in lbs$/$ft by the second number in the member designation. The

building height is $14ft.$
