Procedure 1: Accuracy vs. Precision Compare the accuracy and precision of the following instruments used to measure volumes. Obtain the following items: Transfer pipette Serological pipette Pipette helper or bulb Micropipette and tips Weigh boat Digital scale Beaker of colored water Turn on your digital scale/balance. Place the empty weigh boat on the scale and "tare" or "zero" out the balance. It should read 0.00 after you tare or zero a balance. Using the TRANSFER pipette, measure out 1 milliliter, then transfer it to the weigh boat. Record the weight in the table below. Tare the balance after each measurement. Repeat the steps (3 through 5) two more times and record your results in the table below. Calculate the average weight of 1 milliliter of colored water obtained with the TRANSFER pipette. (Add them all up and divide by 3). Repeat steps 3-7 using a SEROLOGICAL pipette. Repeat steps 3-7 using a MICROPIPETTE
