Process for Managing Career Readiness

This textbook alms to help you develop your career readiness by teaching you about principles of management and then helping you to integrate what you've learned in each chapter into your own career readiness journey. This activity is important because it demonstrates a step$-$by$-$step process to help you apply what you're learning in order to bulld your career readiness.

The goal of this activity is to challenge your understanding of the process for managing career readiness outlined in Figure $1\mathrm{.}5$ of your textbook.

Following are scenarios related to the process for managing career readiness. Some scenarios depict a student correctly using a step in the process, while other scenarlos depict a student using a step in the process improperly. Read each scenarlo and EITHER select the step of the process for managing career readiness that it depicts as being used correctly OR indicate that the scenario depicts a person improperly using the process.

Sarah wants to develop her cross$-$cultural competency, so she finds two international student events to attend in the upcoming semester to help her learn more about these cultures.

Wilder wants to be as career ready as possible, so he reads through the list of competencies in Table $1\mathrm{.}2$ of his textbook and decides to work on improving every single one of them this semester.

Step $2$: Determine which concepts are relevant for developing your targeted competencies

Imanl is about to enter the job market. RIck wanted to develop networking skills so he attended an event for young professionals. He didn't know one person and felt too intimidated to talk to others. In considering what went wrong, he realized it may be best to attend these events with a friend or colleague who is already plugged into the network.
