PROJECT $22023/2024$ The useful life of equipment must be estimated in order to establish a reasonable cost or charge for the use of the plant or equipment. It is important for your company to determine the economic life of plant or equipment in order to minimize cost or to maximize profit.

PART A $(15\%)$

As the company Plants and Operation Manager, you have been requested by your company director to compare $($C$2)$ a wide$-$range $($WP$2)$ of possible plants or equipment to fulfil the function in ONE of the following tasks: lifting, foundation, dewatering, compressor, conveyors, asphalt, or aggregate production operation. The comparison must be performed using the designed selection system $($WK$5),,$ based on best engineering practices $($WK$6)$ that require abstract thinking $($WP$3),$ both by Analytic Hierarchy Process $($AHP$),$ and Kepner Tregoe technique. Comparison must be documented clear and complete.

PART B $(15\%)$

After performing the comparisons in PART A$,$ you are required to evaluate $($C$6)$ the equipment economic, classify$($C$4)$ various resource $($EA$1)$ of the selected plant or equipment, and decide $($C$6)$ with in$-$depth knowledge $($WP$1),$ after studying wide$-$range of conflicting issues $($WP$2),$ the appropriate plan for equipment acquisition, replacement and retirement for your plant or equipment, based on best engineering practice $($WK$6)$ and research literature $($WK$8).$
