PROJECT DESCRIPTION I. BACKGROUND STUDY Sustainable Development Goals: No Poverty Our group intends to cater to the first Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Goal 1, No Poverty. Looking from the perspective of India and China, their rapid economic growth has lifted millions of people out of poverty. However, there are a total of 736 million people still living on less than US$1.90 as of 2015. This is equivalent to RM7.85 in Malaysia. According to Oxfam, the global movement of people who work together to end the injustice of poverty, the crisis could force half a billion people back into poverty. The No Poverty goal is the bedrock of the SDG Goals. The goal has become even more difficult to achieve due to the deadly pandemic, yet it also gives us a chance to completely revolutionise the development. From the perspective of Malaysia, many charities, fundraising activities, and non-profit organisations (NGOs) have been seriously impacted due to strict standard operating procedure (SOP), financial instability, and economic downturn. The announcement of the Movement Control Order (MCO) makes it more difficult for Malaysians to volunteer and help others who are in desperate need during the pandemic. However, this does not rule out the possibility of extending a helping hand. Therefore, a system which can become the platform where fundraisers can manage their fundraising efforts in online mode, while normal users can buy stuff to donate, needs to be built. We hope to ease the fundraising activities to ensure that everyone can survive during these tough times both economically and mentally. Question: 1.
