IEEN$5313$ Inventory Systems

The independent course project accounts for $15\%$ of the overall grade. The

proposal of the project is due on $3/24,$ Sun $(20\%).$ The final project along

with the presentation is due on $5/5,$ Thu on Blackboard $(60\%).$ Submit a

presentation of your project by $5/5$ on the Discussion Board of Blackboard

$(20\%).$ You can use any available tools for generating presentations, e$.$g$.,$ Zoom

or MS PowerPoint.

Here are some suggestions for finding your p roject topics:

i$.$ Collect and analyze real inventory operations and data. Investigate what

inventory control strategy the company used, and evaluate the performance of inventory management such as inventory turnover, and ordering

policy. Use concepts and methods learned in the class to offer critiques

and improvement suggestions.

ii$.$ Study inventory control practices in certain industries in terms of describing risks, benefits, best practices along with industry examples of each.

Use the concepts and methods learned in class, and literature about inventory control to analyze the inventory management practices in the

industry. Compare the case you found to the best practice reported in the

literature.

iii. Use data analytics such as statistics or machine learning to explore inventory data and analyze the inventory control strategy.
