Time Limit
A grievance will be considered initiated when a written statement is received by the immediate out-of-scope supervisor. To be accepted, a grievance must be initiated within ten (10) calendar days from when the employee became aware of the alleged infraction. However, the ten (10) calendar day limit does not apply to grievances related to specific benefits such as salary, vacation leave, sick leave, etc., where the company is alleged to have failed to apply them. For such cases, the time limit is extended to one (1) year from the date of the alleged infraction. Any retroactive pay required will be effective from the date of the infraction or April 5,2024, whichever is more recent.

Management is proposing replacement of Arbitration Board with a single Arbitrator for the resolution of disputes within the organization.

Management shall have the authority to select the most qualified and suitable candidate for each position, regardless of seniority considerations outlined in Clause 10.06 of the current agreement.

Downward Classification
a. Management shall provide employees with notice of wage reductions on downward classification, in accordance with Employment Standards regulations.
b. Employees affected by wage reductions shall have the option to apply for higher classified positions within the organization, maintaining their current salary if qualified and selected for such positions.
