Provide an open source project example, in which how they work and collaborate. How do contributors communicate with each other? Do they use different communication tools for different circumstances? How do they plan and delegate their work? How are bugs, issues, and feature requests managed? How do contributors actually submit their work for review and inclusion in the project? How do new developers get started contributing to the project? Are technical guidelines for contributors published? Is the documentation different for users and developers?

Talk about the community. How formal is it? Is there any corporate influence or sponsorship? What implicit rules govern the community? Who is most involved? Who has taken on a leadership role? Is there a "BDFL"? Is the leadership style conducive to healthy discussion and collaboration or can it be abusive or hostile? Does the project feature a contributor covenant or some other code of conduct? Does the project have schedules, deadlines, or roadmaps?
