provide constructive feedback or commentary to the following discussion: Someone I was once mentored made a wrong decision when analyzing a time study observation data. The observation was around receiving inbound loads. In the past, inbound loads were received and staged on staging area by receivers before they are put away into storage locations by a putaway fork lift operator. When inbound loads have issues then receivers need to call their supervisor to audit the load. In the past, this audit is categorized as a delay because of the inbound issue cause the receiver to wait and it hinders the receiver from receiving the load seamlessly. However, at the time of the observation, inbound receiving process has changed - inbound audit becomes a standard procedure to ensure quality of loads from plants/warehouse to warehouse transfer are met. The person I mentored still considered audit as a delay instead of a standard process, causing the delay time to be very high in comparison to total time, and it skewed the overall pallets per hour rate. The mistake can be avoided by: Always reanalyzing the current situation and never assume that it's the same as before (have an open mind) Asking questions
